Village Adoption Project

The Village Adoption Project aims to localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in rural areas through a thematic approach, as envisioned by Government of India through the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The project seeks to address the socio-economic and environmental challenges faced by villages, and create sustainable and self-reliant communities. By adopting a holistic and integrated approach, the project focuses on the following key themes to achieve comprehensive development in the target villages.
  • Education and skill development
  • Health and hygiene, Well being
  • Environment and climate change

The Project Aims to achieve the following objectives:
  • Enhance livelihood opportunities in the adopted village.
  • Ensure digital literacy and financial literacy through awareness.
  • Improve the health and well-being of villagers through awareness and sensitization.
  • Promote environmental sustainability through clean and green practices.
  • Empower women and create gender-responsive communities.
  • Awareness of governance system e.g. Panchayati Raj.
  • Organize health camp.

Selection of Village:
The remote and tribal villages are selected under the project. The Village adoption project are implemented through the approved study centres located at the remote and tribal areas in the state of West Bengal .under the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) of School of Vocational Studies.
